Description: Launched on April 28, 1998, by an Ariane 4 rocket, Nilesat 101 was Egypt's first geostationary communication satellite. It carried 12 Ku-band transponders, delivering over 100 digital TV channels, radio, and multimedia services to morethan five million homes. The satellite was decommissioned in February 2013.
